Journal Kimia Terapan Indonesia is a scientific and periodical journal published online twice a year by Research Center for Chemistry, Indonesian Institute of Sciences. It covers research and developments, scientific reviews and brief communication within research result in the area of Applied Chemistry

Jurnal Kimia Terapan Indonesia invites articles in applied chemistry, especially on the following themes:

Peer Review Process

The aim of the peer review process is to ensure the high quality and original scientific manuscript for publication. This journal utilizes the double blind peer review system in the processing of manuscripts submitted for publication. The author can track electronically the whole process from submission to editorial decision, by assessing the site through username and password that are supplied when registering.

1. Initial Assessment

All submitted articles undergo an initial assessment by the editors to verify:

a. the subject is within the focus and scope of the journal

b. the journal's guidelines and the minimum required quality standards are met

c. possible excessive similarities with texts already published (plagiarism prevention)

According to initial assessment, if the criteria are not met, the submission may be rejected after these steps and the authors will be informed of the reasons.

2. Technical Review

If the basic criteria are met, the manuscript is sent to at least two referees, experts in the corresponding field, who evaluate the article by adding comments, suggesting changes and giving an opinion about its acceptance for publication. If the reviews are discordant, the manuscript is sent to a third or more reviewers.

3. Editor Decision

After receiving the reviews, the editor makes the decision to accept, decline, or ask for a revision of the paper. The results are forwarded to the authors for their reply and revision of the paper are required if any. The revised original received from authors is then sent to the editor or to the same reviewers, to ensure that the requirements are met. Final editorial decision takes the following criteria into consideration: compliance with the journal rules, originality, relevance and scientific contribution to the field.

 

 

Open Access Policy

Jurnal Kimia Terapan Indonesia provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. All articles are free to access, download, and share immediately without embargo times.

 

Archiving

Jurnal Kimia Terapan Indonesia has a registered deposit policy based on Indonesian Scientific Journal Database (ISJD) - Indonesian Institute of Sciences.  This journal is archived in the repository of Indonesia One Search (IOS) - owned by National Library of Indonesia- and utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.
